Why do I need a website care plan?

A Website Care Plan saves you time and gives you peace of mind that your website is taken care of by a professional. These plans are specifically designed to keep your website working at top condition.

 
Can't I just take care of my site on my own?

Yes, definitely! You certainly can take care of your own website.

But I would rather see you put your time, talents, and energy into the core of your business and let me help you by putting my time and talents into making sure you have an amazing and properly functioning website.

 
Do you offer web hosting?

No, I do not offer web hosting as part of my care plans. But I can help you get setup with one of my preferred vendors.

Some web hosts are better than others. I might require you to upgrade your hosting services to get the most out of my care plan services.

 
What does support tasks and content revisions mean?

Support tasks are small tasks that include anything that takes me 15 mins or less to complete. Typically this would be things like adding in some text content, images, navigation items, or a testimonial section.

Content revisions include content and style edits but do not include content writing, development, maintenance of custom developed plugins. In other words, you write the content and I take care of getting it on your site and in the right format.

I will train you on how to submit issues. Once an issue has been submitted, support and content revisions will be completed as soon as possible (usually within 2-3 business days).

Support tasks and content revisions do NOT cover advanced features like implementing ecommerce functionality, new layouts and/or page designs, or building sales funnels.

Any work outside of this is at my discretion and may require additional hours to be billed. I will let you know if anything runs across the line and what the costs will be before doing any additional work.

Does time for monthly support tasks and content revisions roll over to the next month?

No, monthly time allotted for support task and content revision time does not roll over to the next month. I block out your time each month and cannot account for time rolling over.

What if I need more support or content revision time during the month?

I understand that stuff just happens sometimes. Whether it is something that needs more attention than normal on your site or you'd like to do something special this month, I am here to help!

If a task is going to need more than the allotted monthly time or falls outside of typical tasks/revisions, I will send you a proposal at either a fixed investment or at my current hourly rate. I'll move forward with the changes after I get your approval.

What happens when my site is down?

I do not guarantee that your site will be available 24/7. There are many factors outside of my control.

But on all care plans, I monitor your site and receive notification immediately if the website is offline.

If your site goes down, I will notify and communicate with the web host on your behalf as quickly as possible during business hours.

What about security?

I cannot guarantee that your website will not be hacked. Just like with your computer or your phone, your website software can be hacked.

With the website care plans, I provide security monitoring and preventative care.

Each month, I update any vulnerable components such as plugins and themes to help prevent any malware getting into your site.

If something goes wrong, I will contact your web host on your behalf and restore a backup or assist in the cleanup of the site (although rare, depending on the level of the hack, there could be additional fees).

If you break the site because you added content, updated software, or did something else to the site (even unintentionally), you will be responsible for any additional time and associated cost for me to restore the site.

What is covered on the strategy call?

Strategy Calls are for us to talk about your goals, how you are currently meeting those goals, and what the next steps will be.

All sessions are conducted on video chat as possible.

Cancel anytime?

Yes! If you would like to cancel, please email me and I will stop your subscription payment immediately.

Is there any additional cost?

Before joining a care plan, I go through a comprehensive website evaluation. This allows me to understand your site and make sure that everything is working well before it goes onto a care plan.

There is an additional cost for this service.

If there are significant issues to bring the site up to good health, then I will provide you with an estimated cost.

For sites that I built, I do not charge any extra fees.
